Absinthe Brasserie

Absinthe . . . the very word conjures swirly images of turn of the century Montmartre, dark corners and certain creative-types and other bohemians willing to take a mad dance with the green fairy. Banned in the United States for nearly a century, absinthe is back and kindling the imagination of a new generation of night owls. The namesake brasserie is small and moody with plenty of dark corners to curl up in. Ask one of the friendly bartenders how to take your absinthe properly or stick to the well-made martinis, mojitos and sangria. For a lounge, Absinthe has a great menu of noshes and particularly good pizza.

There's no sign on the door, so look for the sign for Bowl, a faint green light, and martini-shaped door handles.
