The Lake House

You can leave your picnic basket at home. The Lake House, located in Discovery Green and perched on the edge of  Lake Kinder, is a casual counter-service café that serves-up tasty grill offerings. On the menu: Kobe beef hot dogs, salads, and gourmet hamburgers like the Texas Smoke House, with sautéed mushrooms and St. Arnold's-battered onions dripping over a thick bed of melted white cheddar and a bacon-infused patty. It's the inspired work of chefs Robert Del Grande and Ryan Pera, bringing premium ingredients and flavors to classic grill favorites.

The building evokes both Philip Johnson and Piet Mondrian with its walls of patchwork glass that dissolve the boundaries between indoors and out. The patio is also a good spot to choose, especially on a warm day while enjoying a vanilla milkshake or a glass of basil lemonade.
