MOM 2.0 SUMMIT COMING TO HOUSTON

FotoFest defines what it means to be a mom in pictures

February 6th, 2010 at 6:00 AM

FotoFest has teamed up with the founders of the Mom 2.0 summit, a meeting of marketers, "mompreneurs" and social media enthusiasts, to present an exhibit of personal photographs taken by a handful of women in a growing movement of moms who share their daily experiences through social media, blogs and online photo communities.

Shutter Sisters founder Tracey Clark hand selected the photographs for Mom 2.0: Defining a Movement, and said that although many of the woman shoot professionally, the pictures on display are almost all candids from their personal collections.

The exhibit is a precursor to a larger event to be held at the Four Seasons Feb. 18-20: the Mom 2.0 Summit, organized by kirtsy.com and opmom.com.

The exhibit will close with a final viewing party for conference attendees Feb. 19, where photographs will be sold at silent auction with proceeds benefiting earthquake relief efforts in Haiti.

This video by Katherine Center is also on display at FotoFest through Feb. 20:
