It appears there will be more than football to watch following Thanksgiving dinner this year.
ABC Television (KTRK, Channel 13) plans to liven up this year's family gathering and post-dinner digestion with a little bit of rock and soul courtesy of Houston's own Beyoncé and Sir Paul McCartney.
On Nov. 26, at 8 p.m., the alphabet network will offer an hour-long peak at Beyoncé's "I Am..." tour, recorded last summer in the Encore Theatre at Wynn Las Vegas. The four-night stand was re-dubbed "I Am... Yours" because of the special up-close access the cozy, 1,500-seat room offered audiences.
No word on what the set list might look like, but the show featured hits from both her Destiny's Child and solo catalogue as well as covers of everything from Anita Baker's "Sweet Love" to Prince's "The Beautiful Ones." Interviews and behind-the-scenes footage will be woven in with the concert footage.
Also part of the Thanksgiving night viewing festivities: Highlights from former Beatle McCartney's dramatic return to Queens in July to play a concert in celebration of the opening of Citi Field, the new home of the New York Mets.
In the summer of 1965, the Beatles opened a legendary North American tour at the old Mets home field, Shea Stadium, playing to a crowd of 55,600. Footage from both shows will be featured during the hour-long telecast.
